2026 Audition Information

Over the Moon Productions is hiring for our 2026 Season!

AUDITION DATES:
     SATURDAY, JANUARY 3RD :
          *SOLO AUDITIONS 3-8PM
     SUNDAY, JANUARY 4TH:
          *SOLO AUDITIONS 11AM-5PM
          *FLOW CALLBACKS 6-8 PM (All flow artists applying for group shows are required to attend)
     MONDAY, JANUARY 5TH
         *STILT AND CHARACTER AUDITIONS 7-9PM

          *INDIVIDUAL INTERVIEWS & CALLBACKS (TBD on individual basis)

     Over the Moon is a theatrical production company. Our performances are uniquely curated themed productions that include team collaboration, characterization, and often, scripted guidelines. Our Stilt Walkers are more than people on stilts; we are Tall Interactive Characters with theatrical training to play roles such as Chefs, Pirates, Cowboys, and more. We provide ambient fire and LED flow performances, but our Group Flow Shows include scripting, costuming, and group numbers to create a story for our audiences. We also have grounded characters, such as, but not limited to, fairies, mermaids, and clowns: some verbal, some non-verbal, all to include physicality. We do not provide any branded characters. All of our characters are personal to us as performers and/or our team. When you work with Over the Moon it is important to know that you are part of an interactive theatrical troupe, and the world we invite our audiences into is at the forefront of all of our performances.

     For 2026 we are seeking high-energy theatrical, circus, and specialty performers for interactive and staged performances. We are looking mostly for stiltwalkers, grounded characters, and Fire and LED flow performers. We are always looking for performers with their own individual acts, especially those that include out-of-the-box creativity. We are not currently hiring face painters or magicians.

     As a part of the Over the Moon troupe you will be expected to attend mandatory rehearsals to assist in creating our 2026 performances. We are a year-round company, but the bulk of our performances run June-August for our Summer Residencies. Our rehearsal season for our summer shows runs February-May.

 

*Applicants must be available locally for the majority of the summer dates in order to be considered for the 2026 cast.

FLOW PERFORMERS:

     Those auditioning for fire will need to provide a performance to a 3+ min song for your primary prop. 2-3 minute for LED. If you are a multi-prop performer, please set up a showcase to highlight all of your props. You may combine multiple props within one song if you choose. Breaks will be given to multi-prop performers, as needed.

     Our main Fire Group Show theme will be “Putting on the Ritz” (think Glitz & Glam, ragtime, diamonds are a girls best friend, Bob Fosse, Myrtle Vegas, showstopper, Vintage Broadway)

     Our main L.E.D Group Show theme will be “This is our Second Rodeo” (this is a sequel to last year’s clown show. This show will include rodeo themes such as lasso gags, clown in a barrel, neons, slapstick fun, along with fine tuned tricks to highlight “this isn’t our first rodeo”. All cast will be clowns, of their own style and choosing. Not all rodeo clowns are hobo clowns- feel free to look up clown archetypes to see what works for you! Music is NOT limited to country, but should be whatever suits your style)

     For your audition, you are welcomed to include these themes if it helps inspire you, but you are not expected to audition with a themed piece. This is a jumping off point, as we will create our characters, costumes, and acts together when rehearsals begin.
Sunday is a choreography call-back where you will be led through some basic group stage work and choreography.

     All Fire and LED performers wanting to be considered for the group shows will be required to attend this call-back.

We will provide a bluetooth speaker for music or will be able to pull it up via a Spotify.
We will provide a fire safety.

STILTWALKERS:

     We will begin with Character Auditions. All auditionees will be expected to be there the entire time. You do not have to prepare anything. We will lead you through a series of exercises and games with some of our existing character performers!

     We will end the session with a physical audition. At this time we will get you up on stilts and see your movement. You are not required to previously walk on stilts to apply. We can train you to walk on stilts. On this date we want to see your existing talents or how you learn.

Please come dressed comfortably to move and wear closed toe shoes. If you already walk on stilts and own your own stilts, please bring them with you.

COSTUMED CHARACTERS:

     All grounded theatrical characters will audition with our Stilt Character Auditions. You do not have to prepare anything. We will lead you through a series of exercises and games with some of our existing character performers!

Please come dressed comfortably to move!

OTHER POSITIONS AND INDIVIDUAL ACTS:

     Auditions will be by appointment only Saturday 3rd- Monday 5th
     We are not interested in magic acts or face painters for 2026.
